Injection Grounting

Injection Cement based grouts is the best method to eliminate small voids below and with in concrete slabs. Injection of Floadd mixed with cement will reduce the risk of concrete cracks. This will support the concrete and prevent water ingress.

There are different types of Grouting materials.
Epoxy and Polyurethane Grouting

Epoxyand Polyurethane grouts are epoxy resins based special chemical formulation , when mixed with a curing agent f convert to a solid form. When this Epoxy based grouting material is injected into the Concrete Slab or wall it provides a strong bond and completely fills the crack. These grout can be up to 4 times as strong as the concrete. Epoxy and polyurethane injection grouts can be used to seal cracks in concrete and it extends useful life of concrete.


Advantages of epoxy and polyurethane injections are as follows:
  • High Strength Bond
  • Can be used with a wide range of materials
  • Minimal Shrinkage
  • Has the ability to be installed in cold or wet conditions
  • Very tolerant to moisture
  • Bond maintains its strength up to 180 Degrees Fahrenheit

Cement based Grouting

In Cement based injection grouting, Chemical Grout in form of Powder is mixed with Cement and water. The slurry is pumped into leaking or cracked concrete. These materials expand and create a flexible gasket to cut off water. This method can be used on wet or dry concrete.
Waterproof Contractors uses special chemical grouts to stop water leaks from cracks. The chemical mixed cement slurry chase the water and absorb into the pores of the concrete forming a firm bond to the wet concrete. They mix forms a strong bond which is flexible, chemically resistant, and capable of adhering to both wet and dry surfaces.

Pressure Guniting

Pressure Gunite also called Shot-Crete is a mixt of Cement and Coarse Sand applied to the concrete or masonary surface under high pressure. These are used to stregthn new surface or repair damaged surface mixtures. The mix of Cement and sand is blown onto the surface. The equipment used for shot crete consists of a blending mixer and air compressor. Water is mixed in the powder at the exit port to form a slump mortar. This process is good to apply concrete to tunnel linings, swimming pools and to apply repair to damaged vertical concrete columns and building structures. Application is usually made with a minimum of 25mm to 75 mm. However the thickness may vary according to the requirement . The mortar contains cement Coarse Sand, Water and Shot-crete admixture. The application is reinforced with Welded Mesh Steel 4” x 4” in 10 swg.

Basement Waterproofing

Basements are the most important part of a house. A bad basement can ruin the entire living experieance of a house owner. People build basement for varied reasons. Basements are built to be used for Entertainment, Indoor Sports, Study, Office space, Storage and even living spaces. Basements are structures built in varied soils. Water in the soils leaking into basements is a problem that has troubles home owners . The water may enter the basement through the walls, floors, and joints between them. Unfortunatly, over the years, contractors and houseowners have ignored importance of waterproofing of the basement at the time of concreting. Even if they have applied some waterproofing using variety of methods. Most of these methods have not been effective.  A wet or just damp basement is not suitable for any use. Moisture will get into the building materials and/or storage and cause mold, mildew, rot, bad smells, and damage to floor coverings, furniture, and stored personal items. These things never seem to get better over time. Basement dampness tends to get worse over time. So even if water seepage is only a once a year occurrence, it needs to be fixed before the basement is finished. 
Basement Waterproofing depends upon stage when it is being done. Is it preventive waterproofing or corrective? Is it being done from Positive Side (Outside) or Negative Side (Inside). Injection Grouting, Pressure Grouting, Waterproof Mortars or Elastomaric Coating or a multi application of some of these.

Terrace Garden Waterproofing

Due to shrinking plot sizes, Terrace Garden are becoming very popular in cities these days. Apart from the planning and designing the structure for terrace garden. The structure requires additional reinforcement which should be designed by the structural engineer. While designing a terrace garden, following should be kept in mind:

  • Structural Strength
  • Good Waterproofing
  • Good Slope
  • Good drainage

There are different treatments for waterproofing for terrace garden.

  • Guniting
  • Waterproof Mortar
  • Elastomeric Coatings

The application depends upon size, design and the structure of the Terrace Garden.

Roof/Terrace Sunken Area

In Modern construction terraces are sunken. Which means the bottom part of the terrace is flat and the beams are placed on the terrace. Such construction design requires very efficient waterproofing, as there are chances of water ponding in case the top surface fails.The hydrstatic pressure would be more then the flat terrace. Idealy the sunken areas should have waterproofing on the sunken surface as well as the plaster which is applied after filling the sunken area. Elastomeric Coatings are the best for such surfaces.

Toilet/kitchen Sunken Areas

Just like the sunken terrace, the waterproofing is very important here also. Just imagine a damp bathroom roof. It is so unhygenic. The best suitable water proofing for sunken areas is a Two Component Cementitious Polymer based water proofing material. However Epoxy based products are also recommended.

Swimming Pool Waterproofing

Imagine a beautifully built swimming pool, not being used because of water leakages. Swimming Pools, being large water holding capacity, require special water proofing treatment. It requires a complete system with Injection Grouting, Joint Repairs, Acrylic Coatings reinfirced with Fibre Glass. Proper corner treatment should be done.
